Diet holds the key for eye care. Regular intake of carotene rich fruits and dark green vegetables works as natural supporting tool for general eye care. Consuming the appropriate food that contains the right vitamins to assist in keeping the eyes healthy is a vital part of eye care. There are numerous ailments pertaining to the eye and the right diet can decrease the threat of these diseases.

Antioxidants-Averting eye ailments

  • Antioxidants assist in averting several ailments related to the eyes. Antioxidants contain Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A.
  • These antioxidants are considered beneficial in averting age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and other eye ailments.
  • Fruits and vegetables are rich sources of antioxidants and those that are well pigmented contain a greater concentration of antioxidants.
  • Hence while selecting fruits and vegetables, it is imperative to observe the color. The ones with more color to should be preferred.

  • Active or passive smoking initiates formation of cataract and macular degeneration which is completely irrevocable. It is thus wise to stop smoking and avoid an atmosphere where these is chance for passive smoking.
  • It is better to support eye care remedies with natural exercise processes. However, it is highly recommended to take the exercise direction from the consulting ophthalmologist for optimum care.
  • Adequate sleep and rest will help in maintaining eye health in a consistent way.
